Why Support Community Health & Hospice?

Community Health & Hospice creates and nourishes strong health partnerships throughout the Lakes Region. Our partners include patients, caregivers and family members, our staff, physicians and other health care providers, hospitals, churches, civic organizations, schools, other nonprofit organizations, our Board of Directors, businesses, foundations, individual donors, volunteers, and local government. Many of our partners invest in Community Health & Hospice-some by making financial contributions and others by donating their time and expertise.

How Can I Give to Community Health & Hospice?

Community Health & Hospice depends on many generous donations to bridge the gap between health care reimbursements and the actual cost of serving our neighbors in the Lakes Region. Support from donors can help meet today’s needs, honor the memory of a loved one, and ensure that we will be able to provide services in the future. If you would like to designate your donation to support a specific Community Health & Hospice program or service, please contact us so we can honor your wishes. We welcome your questions anytime. Please contact Margaret Franckhauser, Executive Director ofCH&H, by phone at (603) 524-8444, ext. 325 or by e-mail at mfranckhauser@commhlth.org.

CH&H is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization, and all donations are tax-deductible to the full extent permitted by law.

Gifts of Cash: Gifts of cash, personal check, or business check for CH&H’s operating expenses or for future needs are convenient and always appreciated. Checks should be made out to “Community Health & Hospice, Inc.” and mailed to Community Health & Hospice, 780 North Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246.

“In Honor of” or Memorial Donations: Gifts in honor or in memory of a loved one are a wonderful way to honor someone who has made a difference in your life. At the same time, these gifts help our staff continue to serve families in the Lakes Region who might otherwise not receive care. The Development Office notifies family members of your gift. The amount of the donation is not disclosed. Memorial Giving envelopes are available at most local funeral homes or at the CH&H office in Laconia. If you don’t have a Memorial Giving envelope, just write “In Memory of” and the deceased’s name in the “Memo” portion of your check.

Bequests: If you believe in what Community Health & Hospice is doing now, you can help make sure we’re able to meet tomorrow’s needs. Your bequest will serve as an enduring commitment to home health care in the Lakes Region.

You can give almost any kind of asset to Community Health & Hospice through a bequest, including cash, securities, an interest in real estate (such as a residence), tangible personal property (such as works of art or antiques) or the remainder of your IRA, Keogh, tax-sheltered annuity, qualified pension or profit-sharing plan. Making a bequest is as simple as asking your attorney to include language in your Will expressing your wish to do so. Please contact our Development Office if you have questions.

Life Income Gifts: A variety of planned giving vehicles, such as Charitable Remainder Unitrusts and Charitable Gift Annuities, allow donors to receive lifetime income and considerable tax advantages while meeting their philanthropic goals. Your financial advisor, attorney, accountant, or insurance agent can tell you about the tax benefits of planned gifts and make sure you are getting the maximum tax and legal advantages allowed for your gift. Please contact our Development Office if you’d like a free brochure on how a Charitable Remainder Unitrust can work for you.

“Named” Funds

At Community Health & Hospice you may name a fund in memory or in honor of a loved one. The minimum contribution for this type of fund is $10,000.00. In order to be “named,” it must be fully funded within three years. Once the fund is established, donors may add to it at any time and in any amounts. Depending on the wishes of the donor, the gift may be used for broad purposes or can be designated for a certain program area, subject to approval by the Board of Directors.

Stocks and Bonds: Donating appreciated securities is beneficial to Community Health & Hospice and can offer tax advantages to the donor. If you’d like to make a stock gift, please contact the Development Office (603-524-8444, ext. 345) at Community Health & Hospice.

If you have any questions relating to contributions, please contact Margaret Franckhauser, Executive Director ofCH&H, by phone at (603) 524-8444, ext. 325 or by e-mail at mfranckhauser@commhlth.org..
